Introduction - A new Beginning (Friday 23rd April, 2021)

I am super excited to take this course Bus 110 - Introduction to Entrepreneurship. Why this is so is because of the course content. As I read the course content it says something like this: "You can consider this course the "Start-Up" of you." I am impressed by the phrase "start-up of you." I view this as a reference to me particularly, asking critical questions like why do I want to be an entrepreneur, what is my sole mission as an entrepreneur, do I have the skill, and am I prepared to learn the skill to become one. A question like "what do you want to achieve" comes to mind. I look at the course in some way in helping me to answer the questions before ever thinking of starting a business. Knowing this excites me and makes me want to learn.

This week I learned the importance of Faithfulness and Competence and how they are related. In an article by Elder Bednar of the Twelve, he advised against separating spiritual development and progress from academic discipline and progress. That excellence should be pursued in both areas. That is particularly striking to me.

I like the idea that all humans are born entrepreneurs. We have to look deep within us to discover what our special talents and gifts are, and discovering how to use them in ways that bring us great joy, enrich lives, and serve others. This is living life as an entrepreneurial hero.

I learned that as an entrepreneur I need to learn several skills. Some include learning to think two steps ahead, learning by doing, building a network, taking intelligent risk, using network intelligence. I am looking forward to how to learn all of this in detail.

I see that this course will help me study myself, and help me know myself deeply and honestly on the path of being an entrepreneur. I am looking so much forward to this journey of entrepreneurship.
